Vivian E. Lawrence, age 98, of Janesville, died Sunday, July 07, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Janesville.
She was born in Harvard, IL, on Nov. 23, 1914, the daughter of James and Luella (Thomas) McHaffey and was a graduate of Janesville High School. Vivian married Ervin L. Lawrence in Janesville. She had worked at Parker Pen during the war and later for FJ Woolworth for nearly 15 years. She loved animals, reading, and camping.
She is survived by her 2 children, Larry (Marcia) Lawrence of Sun Prairie and Lana (life partner, Louise Stout) Lawrence of Madison; 4 grandchildren: Wendy (Fred) Ehrlich of O'Fallon, MO, Bradley (Hollie) Lawrence of Hudson, Daniel (Sheri) Lawrence of Waunakee, Marisa (Brian) Bolton of Flower Mound, TX; and 6 great grandchildren: Allie, Bobby, Kelcy, Alysa, Payton, and Hadleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 6 siblings: Doris Mattison, Lois Sexton, Pete McHaffey, Beatrice Freeman, Jim McHaffey and Winifred Freeman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Forrest Wells officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST.
