Virginia J. “Ginny" Nondorf, age 85 of Dodgeville, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on March 4, 2014. Virginia was born in Platteville on December 15, 1928 to Frank H. and Ethel E. (Smith) Doescher. She was the youngest of nine children. She was a graduate of Platteville High School and attended the UW - Platteville to attain her teaching degree. She taught for five years in rural schools. Virginia continued her teaching even after death, by selflessly donating her body to science.

On June 3rd, 1953, Virginia was united in marriage to Francis "Bud" Nondorf of Spring Green, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clyde. They farmed in Clyde for 32 years and together they had seven children, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

To meet the family’s needs, Virginia went on to pursue another career attending Southwest Technical College in Fennimore to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She then worked for 18 years at St. Joseph's Hospital and The Medical Care Facility in Dodgeville, and nine years at The Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She retired in 1994, moved to Avoca, and then on to Dodgeville.

Virginia had many hobbies and interests, too many to list, but here were some of her favorites...THE PACKERS, Badger football and basketball, reading, listening to music, cooking, gardening, bird watching, embroidery, the Iowa County bus trips, crocheting, fishing, antiquing, auctions, and of course...THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE!! Above all else, her biggest interest was her family!

Virginia is survived by her children, Christine Paddock, Hollandale; William Nondorf, Janesville; Patti Hardyns, Spring Green; Vicky (John) Bray, Avoca; Mike Nondorf, Gotham; and Jennifer Nondorf (Amy Piazza) of Blanchardville. She is further survived by her sisters-in-laws, Lorraine Schram, Lone Rock; Irene Salava, Boscobel; Alice Nondorf, Avoca and Millie Nondorf of Spring Green. As well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Doescher; her daughter, Betsy Nondorf; her husband, Bud and a grandson, Tony Paddock. Virginia was the youngest of nine children and will also join her deceased siblings, Dorothea, Donald, Beth, William, Stan, Frank, Bob, and Ruth.

A memorial luncheon will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 in the Clyde School Gymnasium, 6281 HWY 130, Avoca, WI 53506. Friends may arrive starting at 11:00 A.M. A Memorial Mass will also be held at a later date, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clyde.

We would like to send a special thanks to Bloomfield Health and Rehabilitation Center for taking excellent care of our mom in the last few years. Also, a special thank you to St. Jude Hospice, especially Jenny and Bobby Jo, for all their help and dedication to Virginia. She was truly blessed with your care. As a family, there are a few things we want to say about mom that we will never forget, her kindness, her warm smile, her encouraging words, always having candy in the candy dish, never forgetting to send a birthday card, and her LOVE of cookies. "I Want a Cookie!" We love you MOM!

Memorials to St. Jude Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
