Victoria Emery

Victoria Parisi Emery, age 90 of Mauston, WI, died on August 15, 2013 at Crest View Nursing Home, New Lisbon.

Vicki was born on November 22, 1922 in Madison, Wisconsin. She was raised in the "Greenbush" neighborhood, the daughter of John and Sarah (Scalissi) Parisi. Her parents were Italian Immigrants from Sicily, Italy. Vicki was the third born of 6 children. She was less than a pound when born and got her nickname "Tootsie" from the box that was her very first bed. Vicki was raised in Madison and graduated from West High School. She met that special man and married Alvin "Pete" on December 31, 1941.

She and Pete settled in Mauston and lived there all their lives. Pete went into business with his brother, Lester, operating a very successful automotive parts business, A&L Auto supply. Her beloved Pete died in a tractor accident while putting the finishing touches to the Dream Home and small Lake he was building. Vicki was a Domestic and Mother to 6 daughters, Sharon, Helen, Mary, Betty, Sally, and JoEllen. She loved to bake, and pies were her specialty. People came from miles around to enjoy her delicious Apple Pies, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Raised Doughnuts. Vicki lived independently for many years after Pete died, until her health made it necessary to move to Terrace Heights and from there to Crest View in New Lisbon.

Vicki was very active in her community when her children were young. She was a Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, active in school activities and the Mauston PTA, and an advisor for Job's Daughters. Vicki was one that could never say "no".

Vicki is survived by five daughters, Sharon (Gene) Halverson, Helen Emery, Betty (Mike) Delapp, Sally Strand, JoEllen (John) Howard, 12 grandchildren- Steven Halverson, Susan Halverson Schubert, James Davis, Jodi Davis Roberts, Christopher Delapp, Brian Delapp, Marc Strand, Julie Strand Stull; Michael Howard, Jeffery Howard, Daniel Howard, Ken Howard Lenzendorf; and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Sarah Theel, Madison, WI.

In addition to her parents, John and Sarah Parisi, Vicki was predeceased by her husband Alvin (Pete) Emery, her daughter, Mary Emery Weidling, her sister, Mary Carpenter, brothers Sam Parisi, Charles Parisi and Joseph Parisi, grandson John Davis and son-in-law Bruce Strand.
