Tina Marie Clary, age 96, of Blue River died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Orchard Manor.
She was born September 9, 1916 in Arezzo, Italy, the daughter of Maria and Donato Papini. Tina married Ira Theron Clary in Florence, Italy in 1945 at the end of WWII. They came to America in 1946, and settled in Dieter Hollow before moving just outside of Blue River on a farm in 1952. Ira passed away in 1970 at the age of 60.
Tina owned and operated Clary’s Cafe’ in Blue River for 20 years. She had also been employed with the Cobb Canning Factory, the Boscobel Nursery, Freymiller Meat Packing Company, and for many years the Stop In Cafe’ in Blue River. After retiring, Tina enjoyed her flower gardens, vegetable gardens, crocheting and knitting. Tina had a special love and kindness for cats, especially ‘Kirie’.
She is survived by her sister in law Madeline Swenink of Richland Center, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends in Italy and the United States.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the BLUE RIVER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Pastor Jean Bartlett will officiate with burial in the Blue River Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00.
Memorials in Tina’s name may be made to THE Blue River Rescue squad or to the Blue River United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
