Stanley A. Blatter

Sun Prairie - Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stanley A. Blatter, age 93, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on November 18, 1923, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the son of Christian and Elsie (Albright) Blatter. Stanley served in the Army Air Force during WWII and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands at Adak Island. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lynch on January 5, 1946, in Rockford, Illinois. Stanley worked as a tool and die maker for the Eaton Corporation in Watertown for 24 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, the American Legion Post #333 in Sun Prairie and VFW Post 8483 in Madison. Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking and playing cards.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet (John) Lietz, sons, Richard (Susan) Blatter, and Thomas (Debbie Bordson-Blatter) Blatter; eleven grandchildren, Jason (Jenny) Leitz, Justin (Melissa) Lietz, Jamey (Stacy) Lietz, Christina (Ben) Goins, Terri (Paul) Faes, Richard (Kami) Blatter II, Robert (Rebecca) Blatter, Daniel (Lori) Blatter, David (LeeAnn) Blatter, Adam (Frances Macaulay) Blatter and Jessica Blatter; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Hein; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, a great-grandson, Gavin Lietz and a sister, Elsie Richie.

A celebration of his life will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Luke Werre officiating. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Cemetery in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
