MILWAUKEE-Sr. Mary Angela Saeman, age 97, entered God’s kingdom on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Care Center in Milwaukee. Sr. Mary was born on Jan. 11, 1917 in Cross Plains, the daughter of Charles W. Saeman and Kathryn (Conrad) Saeman.
Sr. Mary celebrated her 80th year as a School Sister of St. Francis in 2013. Her Ministry of Service, from Teaching to Pastoral Care took her to Chicago, Ill., New York, Whitefish Bay, Alverno College, Franklin, White Bear Lake, Minn., and Janesville. Most recently she was an archivist for her order. Her lifelong learning and evolution of faith have been an inspiration to those who have known her. She was a Family Treasure.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is further survived by the family of Sisters of the School Sisters of St. Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Theo (John) Cavanaugh, Laura (Joe) Gronenthal, Louis (Bertha) Saeman, Greg (Ann) Saeman, and Joan (Ralph) Hutchings.
A Mass of Resurrection will be taking place at ST. JOSEPHS CENTER, 1501 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, with burial to follow in Cross Plains.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the School Sisters of St Francis Retirement Fund.
