MADISON-Shirley (Taylor) Williams passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2012, following a brave battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 1, 1935, to the late Robert and Jean Marion. Shirley lived in Madison for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Elijah Mack Williams. Shirley was an active member and steward of St. Paul AME Church.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Robin Banks, Jacqueline Banks, Merl Banks, Lisa Banks, and Jasmine Banks; grandchildren, Shanti Banks, Geneva Banks Ferguson, Elizabeth Creech, Turaj Ferguson, Maryah Banks, and Tyrone Creech, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Quianté Ferguson, Azael Ferguson, and Yasmine Clendening; nephew, Leonard (Darlene) Washington; niece, Susan (Howard) Truitt; great niece, Natasha Truitt; great-nephew, Christopher Truitt; and brother-in-law, Earnest (Dorothy) Graham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean Marion; husband, Elijah Williams; and sister, Betty Graham. She will be missed by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at ST. PAUL AME CHURCH, 4525 Diamond Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, with Pastor Thomas Flint presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. On-line condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
