Shirley M. Hinz passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in her home with all of her children present.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1937, the daughter of Leonard & Phyllis Karczewski. She married Robert Hinz on April 28, 1956. Shirley was a caretaker for all. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Shirley was a reading volunteer at Frank Allis School. She loved fishing, football (Packers), camping and penny slot machines.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Roy (Pamela) Hinz, Don (Desiree) Hinz, Connie (Brett) Warden, Judy (Dwayne) Cooke, Sharon Hinz, Brenda (Roger Weideman) Daly, Steve (Amy) Hinz, and Pamela Beyer; grandchildren, Adam (Erin) Hinz, Jason (Hannah) Hinz, Joshua and Alyssa Hinz, Jeremy and Jocelyn Hinz, Ariel and James Himes, Alexis and Kurt Warden, Cole and Nicole Cooke, Collin Daly, William Hinz and Skyler and Tyler Beyer; great-grandchildren, Addilynn, Zachary and Grayson Hinz, and Orion, Raven and Juniper Himes; sisters, Laverne (Leonard) Hinz and Joyce Mickelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Robert Karczewski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
