Rosella W. Breidel

Rosella W. Breidel, age 89 of Westby and formerly of Viroqua, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Norseland Nursing Home.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1924 at home in the town of Shelby to Herbert and Alice (Helke) Kramer. On June 9, 1942 she married Philip Breidel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in LaCrosse. Philip and Rosella were farmers in LaCrosse County and Chaseburg prior to moving to Liberty Pole. They milked cows and harvested crops such as tobacco and at one time had as much as 17 acres of tobacco. Together they also enjoyed gardening. In 1962 they moved to Viroqua. Rosella was employed at the Vernon County Nursing Home for 20 years. She liked watching soap operas and tv shows, but her most cherished and precious times were spent with her children, grandchildren and family and spending time on Bruce and Janice's farm.

She is survived by her four children: Phillip (Kathy) Breidel, Judy Blackburn (Hector Romo), Ron (Marla) Breidel and Janice Constalie (Ron Hoff); eight grandchildren: Eric Breidel, Mark (Holly) Breidel, Lisa (Derek) Schyvinck, Stacey (Todd) Mengelt, Jason Breidel (Michelle Anderson), Nicole Breidel (Jonathan Stenzel), Michelle (Chris) Walkowicz and Tracy (Rob) Budworth; nine great-grandchildren: Owen Breidel, Aaron and Allison Blackburn, Ashlyn and Anna Schyvinck, Abby Mengelt, Natalie Breidel, Gavin Stenzel, and Henry Walkowicz; one brother, Herbert (Phyllis) Kramer; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Breidel; sister, Miriam Kapanke; and son-in-law, Bruce Constalie.

Blessed be our memory of Rosella Wilhelmina Breidel.
