DeForest, WI/ formerly Plainfield, IL- Rosann Joy Knopp, age 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2013 after a two year battle with cancer.
She was born on January 3, 1945 in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Doris Grahn. She graduated from nursing school in 1967 and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2010.
She met Joseph “Joey” Knopp and they married in 1968. She immediately took on a mothers roll with 3 children and added 2 more. She lived for her family.
She spent many years dedicated to her church volunteering and teaching primary Sabbath school. She loved camping and traveled all over the world but her favorite place was her honeymoon location in Branson, MO. She enjoyed the simple things in life especially cooking, dips & hors d'oeuvres, sewing and gardening.
She spent her recent years volunteering with her sister as the "lunch ladies" at Three Angels Christian School. She gave of herself selflessly and touched so many lives with her love and kindness. She will be dearly missed by all and words cannot express the loss in our hearts.
She is survived by her five children: Mark Knopp, Pamela (Jay) Hilbert, Nancy Parsons, James (Jill) Knopp and Thomas (Joni) Knopp; seven grandchildren: Patrice McKinney, Jack Knopp, Lena and Grant Hilbert, Regan, Ellison and Bryant Knopp; 5 great-grandchildren; five siblings: Larry (Carolyn) Grahn, Loyala Grahn, Cherie Hall, Janie (Ron) Pauls, and Herb (Teresa) Grahn; also many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Madison East Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 910 Femrite Drive, Monona, WI, 53716 with Pastor Titus Naftanaila officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at the Sand Prairie Cemetery in Blue River, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Three Angels Christian School, 901 Femrite Drive, Monona, WI 53716.
