MADISON -

Rosalyn Ruth Studee, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. She was born on April 22, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Klima) Zitnick. She married James F. Studee.

Rosalyn graduated from Madison Central High School in 1937 and continued onto Madison Business College where she graduated in 1939. She enjoyed nature, gardening, and animals, and especially loved being with her family. Rosalyn cherished her family who are now spread near and far. The holiday celebrations have kept the family close with Rosalyn always there offering a funny quip or two.

Rosalyn is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Larry) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Charles (Donna) Studee of Lindenhurst, Ill., Jean (Jeffrey) Tormey of Waukesha, James (Linda) Studee of Buffalo, Minn., and Christopher Studee of Madison; grandchildren, Andrew (Laura) Studee of Chicago, Ill., Paul Studee of Chicago, Ill., Elizabeth (Seiji) Nakatani of Denver, Colo., Michael (Jessica) Nelson of Washington, D.C., Tara (Jeremy) Parks of Westminster, Colo., Raymond (Kathy) Tormey of Denver, Colo., Hannah Studee of Buffalo, Minn., Sam Studee of Buffalo, Minn., and Derek (Susy) Nelson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; ten great-grandchildren, Naomi, Aydin, Sierra, Scarlet, Joshua, Wesley, William, Rosemary, Mia and Zoe; special nieces Linda Otis and Lynne Doyle; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Charles, George, Ralph, Leo, William, Lester, and Robert; and sisters, Marie, Margaret, and Beatrice.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosalyn will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, with Father John Silva presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, as well as from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Care Center for the loving care of Rosalyn. Rosalyn will be missed by all who knew her.
