LEEDS/ARLINGTON—Ronald R. Klahn, age 79, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born in Leeds, Wis. on June 5, 1938 the son of the late Robert and Meta (Herwig) Klahn. Ron fell in love and married Patricia Jones on June 18, 1966. Ron and Pat recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. They made a home in Leeds where they raised their four children on the family farm.
Ron proudly served his country in the US Army and worked at the DelMonte canning plant in Arlington for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, farming, hunting and spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Barbara (Charlie) Boyd, Laura (Joe) Pingel, Kimberly Klahn, and Ron (Allie) Klahn Jr.; four grandchildren, Andrew Klahn, Emma and Christina Pingel, and Thomas Boyd. Ron is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Lloyd (Ruth), Paul (Marlene), Tom (Judy), Sue (Henry) Schact, Pat (Larry) Michel, and Bill (Danita).
Funeral Services will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K, Arlington, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Burial will be held in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church and again on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson’s Assn. or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leeds.
