MADISON-Ronald A. Topp, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Sept. 16, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1937, in Milwaukee, the son of Clarence and Lucile (Rollhagen) Topp. Ronald graduated from Clintonville High School and UW-Madison with a degree in political science. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1958. He began working for the State of Wisconsin in 1965 and retired in 1999. Ronald was united in marriage to Victoria “Vicky” Graze on July 25, 1964. He had many hobbies including model race cars and CB radios, fly tying, making arrows and leather working. He also had interests in computers and photography. Ronald enjoyed spending time at his beloved cottage on Pine Lake in Shawano County.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicky; children, Erica (Steve) Burg, Jeremy (Carmina) Topp, and Benjamin (Tanya) Topp; grandchildren, Sam and Lucy Burg, Michala, Naomi, Angelica, and Roman Topp, and Elliott, Isaac, and Eliana Topp; brother, Clarence (Pat) Topp; and special niece, Deb Knutson. He was preceded in death by parents; grandchild, Solomon Topp; and nephew, Dennis Knutson.

A memorial service will be held at OLBRICH BOTANICAL GARDENS, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Olbrich Botanical Gardens or the American Lung Association for lung cancer research. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

The family would like to thank all of their friends and family who provided support and love over the past 5 months. A special thank you to Diane Lucas for coming and spending a week towards the end of the ordeal.
