Roger L. Fingerson

Roger L. Fingerson, age 81, of Cobb, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home.

Roger was born on December 16, 1931 in Dodgeville to Lawrence and Pearl (Jacobson) Fingerson. Roger grew up on his family farm in Eden Township. He married the former Eileen Leix on June 27, 1953. He then served in the U.S.Army for two years. Roger started the family business, Fingerson Service Station, in 1956 and was actively involved with his son, Mark until retiring in early 2013 due to his health. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Church Council, Bethlehem Cemetery Assoc., Cobb American Legion, Cobb Lion's Club, Cobb Volunteer Fire Dept., Blackhawk Lake Recreation Area and was co-founder of the Cobb Corn Boil along with Donnie Ritchie. Roger enjoyed time on the family farm, hunting, fishing and playing euchre with friends. His greatest joy was time spent with his family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Eileen of Cobb; three children, Jan Thomas (Renee Todd) of Stoughton; Mark (Colleen) Fingerson of Cobb and Pam (Chris) Kreul of Fennimore; four grandchildren, Lisa Kreul; Jamie (Matt) Iserloth and Paige and Colin Fingerson; a great granddaughter, Libby Iserloth; his sister-in-law, Lois Jean (Laverne) Clifton; brother-in-law, Donnie Ritchie as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Laverne and Betty; his father and mother-in-law, Milton and Fern Leix; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ritchie and close family friends, Kenneth and Marian Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Edmund with Pastor Kathy Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in East Bethlehem Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville and at the church on Monday after 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated.
