MADISON – Roger A. Christianson, age 59, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1954, in Rockdale, the son of Anfin and Marion Christianson. The family moved to Madison when Roger was in middle school. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1972. After high school, he attended UW-Whitewate,r where he received his bachelor’s degree in business and later his master’s degree from Edgewood College. Roger was employed at St. Mary’s Medical Center as a financial director until his retirement.

He was very friendly and outgoing and loved by so many friends and family. He enjoyed all sports, especially golf, shooting skeet and trap, and playing cards. Having a very outgoing personality, Roger touched many lives and was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his sister, Jo (George) Langley; three nieces, Tara Langley, Trista (Todd) Tyler and Tonya (Tim) Allison; six great-nieces and nephews; his aunt, Lila; a cousin, Gloria; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
