Madison - Robert J. Brischke “Bobcat," age 73, died peacefully Saturday morning, August 17, 2013 at Agrace Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 9, 1940 in Madison, son of Joseph & Florence (Zimmer) Brischke. He married Joyce Hying on June 18, 1960 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville. He was a firefighter for the Madison Fire Dept. for 28 years and retired in 1990.

Bob was especially close to his family, he loved them dearly. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & friend, he will be greatly missed. Bob enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing, golfing, watching Packers, repairing things, Dejope, Suduko puzzles, traveling and his morning coffee & euchre at Wiggies. He was so knowledgeable, always helping family & friends.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife & soul mate of 53 years, Joyce; children, Cari (Dan) Cook, Scott (Janie) Brischke and Sherry (Kevin) Anderson; brother, Ron (Gail) Brischke; grandchildren, Josh & Lauren Brischke and Marlisa & Kyla Anderson; nephews, Jeff & Craig; niece, Kim & many other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lisa Rackowski & unborn grandson, Cody.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., and also at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Friday. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
