Robert E. Hagar, age 73, of Janesville died peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on January 7, 1940 in Janesville the son of the late Alva E. and Phyllis G. (Terrill) Hager. Robert married Barbara J. Mitchell and together they had six children.
In his younger years as a child, Robert worked hard as a paper boy, pin setter and in the flour mill before going to work at General Motors, where he worked for over 46 years, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed hunting, and woodworking, making many pieces of wood lawn furniture. Robert was a very generous person, who gave much of his time to his family when his health was better. Christmas was a very special time for Robert. He loved to see the smiles of delight and surprise on his grandchildren's face when they opened their presents. It was true magic for him.
