STOUGHTON/CHICAGO, ILL-Robert C. "Bob" Deutscher, age 91, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at home.

He was born on April 1, 1925, in Illinois, the son of Adolf and Ida Deutscher. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942-1945. He married Margaret Casey during his military service. Together they had one son, Robert Jr. "Bob." Margaret passed away in 1981. Bob married Dolores Grebel on Feb. 22, 1992, in Madison. He was an avid fisherman and horseshoe player. Bob was a very talented carpenter who could build anything. He was able to go on the Badger Honor Flight and received a Quilt of Valor during Operation Badger Base.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; son, Robert Jr. (Irene); daughter, Barbara (William) Michaelis; daughter-in-law, Jan Grebel; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; step-children, Pamela and Jeffrey Grebel; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, with Pastor Sue Schneider officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona, with military honors. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to a charity of the family's choice.
