Paul Sheldon Pfister

Paul Sheldon Pfister, age 67 of rural Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Michael Richel celebrating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Briggsville, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.

Paul was born August 25, 1946 in Portage, Wisconsin the son of Paul and Marie (Bagley) Pfister. He graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1964. He worked at Big Joe Manufacturing in Wisconsin Dells, then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and worked at Caterpillar Tractor. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves, was deployed to Vietnam from October 1968 until October 1969 and was honorably discharged. He returned to Milwaukee and worked at Lakeside Bridge and Steel until 1979 when he moved back to the Dells area, bought his first herd of dairy cows and worked hard ever since.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the people that helped from the beginning to the present day of Paul's 34 year farming career and touched the lives of the Pfister family. In December of 1978 he married Mavis Rasner in Briggsville. Paul truly enjoyed and loved his family, lifestyle, cattle, machinery, farming and his way of life.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mavis; sons, Stephen (Nancy) Pfister and Peter (Geraldine) Pfister, both of Milwaukee, Curtis Pfister, Jeremy (Erica) Pfister and Jonathan (Kymm) Pfister all of Wisconsin Dells; a daughter, Lisa (Timothy Girmscheid) Pfister of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; a sister, Sharon Lincoln of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Kristin and Erika Girmscheid and Faye, Desirae, Cody, Izabella, Henry, Oliver, Sawyer and Jacob Pfister; and Marcy Schultz, mother of grandson, Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents.
