Paul Edward McCarville, age 49, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on Mar. 26, 1964, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Michael and Marilyn (McKittrick) McCarville. Paul graduated from Beloit High School. He married Briana Fitzgerald on Apr. 1, 1995. Paul attended MATC, earning his associates degree in maintenance related engineering and worked as a supervisor at Engineering Industries in Verona until his death. He served two enlistments with the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Paul dedicated time taking care of his brother, Matthew, during Matthew’s battle with ALS. Paul loved the Chicago Bears and the Cubs. He enjoyed fantasy football, stock trading, history, science fiction, telling jokes, and entertaining people. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Briana; children, Alex and Sam; mother, Marilyn (Dale) Long; brothers and sisters, Mark (Julie) McCarville, Maureen McCarville, Michelle (Greg) Jensen, and Patricia (Billy) Ford; sister-in-law, Mary Jo McCarville; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Matthew McCarville.
Funeral services for Paul will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be established.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at the St. Mary’s Cardiac Unit for the care they gave Paul and also to the staff at Engineering Industries for their support.
