MADISON – Patricia J. Brickl, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1933, in Madison, the daughter of Carl and Marie Whiting.

Patricia married Lawrence Brickl on Sept. 4, 1954, in Madison. Patricia worked at Lum’s Restaurant for over 30 years where her customers knew her as “ma”. Patricia also volunteered as a grandma at Central Wisconsin Center. She was a people person, feisty and a “hat lady”. Patricia loved her grandkids, who she referred to as “her world”.

She is survived by her daughter, Janyce (George Clooney) Brickl; sons, Gregory (Tracy) Brickl, Jeffrey (Chris) Brickl, Joe (Amie) Brickl; brothers, Dick (Bonnie) Whiting, Carl “Topper” (Joel) Whiting, Bill (Roberta) Whiting; sisters-in-law, Judy Whiting, Anges Long of Menasha, and Theresa Wilson of Platteville; three grandchildren, Larry, Adam and Luke Brickl; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Brickl; and a brother, Raymond Whiting.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or St. Mary’s Adult Day Care Center.
