MADISON- Nan M. Mulhern, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
She was born in Dalton, Wis., the daughter of Joseph "Emmet" and Jessie (Hunter) Mulhern.
In her youth she enjoyed modeling. Nan was employed with the State of Wisconsin in the Department of Transportation, where she retired after 37 years. She was honored to receive a special citation by the Governor for an outstanding suggestion which significantly improved the effectiveness of the Wisconsin State Government.
Nan enjoyed traveling, spending time outdoors, bowling and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. She especially loved Bart Starr. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.
Nan is survived by many loves ones, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank her care takers at Just Checking In, Mary Fischer, Janie and Marsha as well as Steve for his handiwork.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Nellissary presiding. A visitation will be held at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass. Inurnment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, Wisconsin.
Memorial may be made in Nan's name to Our Lady Queen of Peace School Endowment Fund.
