Mildred “Babe” Conney of Madison, died on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born on July 6, 1928 and grew up in Watertown, the daughter of David and Fannie (Pomerantz) Golper. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Marvin; a son, David Conney, M.D. of Los Angeles; a daughter, Lisa (Rick) Rosenstock of Madison; and granddaughters, Jayme, Kylie, Lauren and Mara Rosenstock. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sam; and a sister, Florence Burstein Sinaiko.

Babe attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In 1951 Babe earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, also from UW-Madison. She was an officer at Conney Safety Products Co. of Madison; a 50 year member of Temple Beth El of Madison; a past president of Temple Beth El Sisterhood. Babe was a member of the University of Chicago Medical Center Visiting Committee, Biological Sciences Division and a recent board member of the McPherson Eye Research Institute of Madison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Temple Beth El, 2702 Arbor Drive, Madison 53711 with Rabbi Jonathan Biatch presiding. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, 166 South Hawley Court, Milwaukee.
