JANESVILLE - Melba E. Fink, age 79, formerly of Janesville, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Evansville Manor. She was born in Bluford, IL, on May 14, 1933, the daughter of Amos and Minnie (Barr) Wilson. She was an elementary school teacher and later worked in the Library of Governor State University, in Illinois. Melba was initially married to John C. Murphy and later married Kenneth Fink. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2008. She was a member of Sweet Adelines, various United Methodist Churches and their choirs, and also of the Teamsters union at Governor State University.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Murphy of Evansville, and Teresa (Bill) Bastien-Behrens of Berryville, AR; son-in-law, Daniel Andrews of Footville; and 3 grandchildren: Renee Bastien, Chuck and Kate Andrews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; daughter, Cynthia Andrews; and 9 siblings.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville, where visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Research.
