DEERFIELD-Mary Lou Pfuhl, age 75, of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at her home in Deerfield.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1938, in Shevlin, Minn., the daughter of Bernard and Lilly (Lundin) Sletten.

She met her husband, Floyd while working at a diner in Minnesota and they were married on May 16, 1958.

A retiree from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Mary Lou’s favorite hobby was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her house was always full during the holidays, and she was always up for a game of Cribbage or Euchre. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, fishing and driving into Wal-Mart. Mary Lou and Floyd spent many summers as a volunteer camp host and made many memories with her family around the campsite.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Floyd; children, Sandy (Keith) Martin, Sue (Earl) Hamm, Sherry Bushey and Bob Pfuhl; grandchildren, Megan, Ashley, Christopher, Krista, Brian, Amber, Tyler and Cheyenne; great-grandson, Jonathon; and sisters Jewell Faulkner and Bonnie Chapin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Lilly; a grandson, Joseph Pfuhl; and two brothers, Everett and Ramond Sletten.

A Celebration of Mary Lou’s Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
