MIDDLETON, Wis. -

Mary “Betty” McKenna, age 89 of Middleton passed away on October 15, 2013, at Agrace Hospice Care, Inc. She was born on May 31, 1924 in Iowa, the daughter of William and Rose (Holder) Burns. Betty was united in marriage to Frances L. “Mac” McKenna on January 14, 1946. Betty attended Cresco and Lawler High Schools, graduating from Lawler. After high school, she received her degree from Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Dubuque, IA. Betty very much enjoyed her career, especially working at Attic Angel Place in Middleton. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, and dancing with Mac and nights at the Elks with Don; and sharing family stories with everyone. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children; Joan (David) Flesch of Mansfield, PA, Mike (Mary) McKenna of Middleton, grandchildren; Amy (Kurt) Doolittle, Gail (Doug Franco) Flesch, Carla (Jim) Jankowski, Lieutenant Commander Patrick (Jenny) McKenna, Christine (Scott) Hoebel, great-grandchildren; Lindsey and Justin Felt, Harlowe and Clarie Doolittle, Luke and Kyle Jankowski, Mike “Mick” McKenna, sister; Elaine McEldowney, sister-in-law; Mary Bruns, and Mike (Deb) Schneider, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mac, companion Don Tiedeman, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. or St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. The family would like to send out a special thank you to the Agrace staff and Home Team, and special friends Tom (Sue) Wilke, and Kent (Lynn) Calloway for all the help they provided.
