MADISON-Mary Ann Dechene, age 52, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at her home.
She was born on May 4, 1962, in Petaluma, Calif., the daughter of Harry and Domenica (Cuffia) Dechene. A very quiet soul, Mary Ann loved the fine arts, ballet, opera and classical music. She was an avid reader, her favorite books were science fiction and fantasy and she had quite a collection. Mary Ann also collected famous productions of ballet, opera, and symphonies. She could discuss these productions for hours. When Mary Ann could, she would attend local performances dragging her identical twin sister with her. She enjoyed her job as an L.P.N., working with the elderly and spending time with her family. Mary Ann doted on her nieces and nephews in town.
She is survived by her many brothers and sisters, Rita Mantel, Lucy Dechene, James (Terry) Dechene, Paul (Julie) Dechene, her identical twin sister ,Martie Cody and Alice (John O’Neill) Dechene; 11 nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
