MADISON-Mark McKinley Hagensick passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by his entire family.
Mark was born February 26, 1953 in Milwaukee to Thomas and Jane Hagensick. He was married to Carol Stramel of Redwood Falls, Minn. Mark retired from the United States Air Force after a 24 year career as a Cryptologic Linguist. He met his wife Carol while they were both stationed at RAF Chicksands, England.
Throughout his life Mark was very involved with the Boy Scouts and loved soccer. He even had the opportunity to coach both Matt and Tammi in their formative years in soccer. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Government Studies. He was very active in Sugar River UMC.
Mark is survived by his wife Carol, his children; Luke of California, Md., Wendy (Angel) Arroyo of Galveston, Texas, Matthew of Madison, and Tammi of Madison; five granddaughters; Alex, Jasmyne, Anjelica, and Gabriela Arroyo and Sydney Hagensick; his mother Jane Hagensick and brother Bart Hagensick. He was preceded in death by his former wife Cheryl Eastman, an infant daughter Rebecca and his father Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at SUGAR RIVER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 130 N. Franklin St., Verona at 11 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 with the Reverend Gary Holmes presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 5 PM until 7 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014 and also on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carbone Cancer Center.
