Monroe, WI/Maris Ann Meier, age 71, passed away at her home with family at her side on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

She was born on November 25, 1942 at Monroe, WI to her parents Roy and Lona (Berndt) Malcook. Maris graduated from Albany High School. On November 14, 1997 she was united in marriage to Dennis Meier. Maris was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Monroe.

Maris, always a loving wife, mother, and grandmother was a farmwife for most of her life. Throughout the years she also worked as a secretary for the Monticello Messenger and as an administrative assistant for a local doctor’s office. She loved camping, snowmobiling, baking, and was involved in many local clubs in the Monticello area. In her later years she was an avid card player who enjoyed going for rides with family and friends to visit local places and people that she held so dear.

Maris is survived by her husband Dennis, children Steven (Tracy) Stefanik of Albany, WI, Daniel (Angie) Clark of New Glarus, WI, Phillip (Becky) Clark of Monticello, WI, and LuAnn Meier of Monroe, WI, grandchildren Jordan and Hailey Stefanik, Zachary and Ashley Clark, and Sawyer and Hannah Clark. She is further survived by her siblings Kenneth (Lorie) Malcook of Brodhead, WI, Phyllis Morgan of Phoenix, AZ, Keith (Debra) Malcook of Brodhead, WI, Shirley (Donald) Morgan of Brodhead, WI, and Sharon (Todd) Wedig of Monroe, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 2902 13th St., Monroe, WI on Monday, March 31st, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Maris’s name.
