Marion L. Homb

A very special mom, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma is walking with God and her spirit will live with us always.

Marion L. (Anderson) Homb joined her husband, Maurice, her eight brothers and sisters, her parents and many other special friends and family on February 7, 2013. She is at peace and will be missed by her loving family, many special nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

Mom began her life on September 4, 1919, growing up on a farm near Spring Green. She met Maurice Homb in the fall of 1945 and they were married on December 7, 1945. While raising two children, Paul (Bonnie) from Dodgeville, WI and Karen (Bruce) Meudt from Madison, WI, they spent most of their lives farming. She is also survived by a step daughter, Betty (Dennis) Watts from San Antonio, TX. Mom worked at the Woolen Mills in Janesville and in later years worked at Carnes in Verona until retirement. Mom always worked hard, always approaching life – hardships and sorrow, as well as joyous occasions – with a positive attitude and warm smile, seldom complaining and always showing kindness to everyone.

Besides her two children and their spouses, her greatest joy was her five grandchildren, one step grandchild, nine great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren. She especially loved the ‘little children'. Mom was also blessed with many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved and truly enjoyed the special relationships she had with all of them. Making and sharing many homemade treats, quilts, rugs, wonderful stories, and especially love and hugs with all. Mom was very proud of her 100% Norwegian nationality and her opportunity to travel to Norway with her beloved sister, Delores, after she retired.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville. Pastor Steven R. Kottke will officiate with burial in the Blue Mounds Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M.

For all of us that had the privilege to know and love her, our world is a better place and will be a bit smaller without her.
