Marian H. “Prudie” Weigel, 88 of Janesville, Wisconsin, formerly of Platteville died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Huntington Place in Janesville surrounded by her family.
Known always as “Prudie” she was the youngest of five children born on July 2, 1928 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, daughter of Alva C. and Harriett “Hattie” (Morgan) Hall.
She graduated from UW-Platteville where she worked as a social worker for the Department of Social Services, Grant County in Lancaster. She was united in marriage to Glenn M. Weigel on January 16, 1960 at her sister’s historic home in Hazel Green. Glenn preceded her in death on October 28, 2007. After their two sons were born “Prudie” continued to work part-time as a social worker until her retirement in 1990.
She is survived by two sons, David R. Weigel and his son, Jack; Jonathan C. (Jennifer) Weigel and their children, Nathan and Lauren; many nieces and nephews and special nephew, Greg (Diane) Curwen. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, one brother and special nephew, Garth Curwen.
A Celebration of “Prudie’s” Life will be held at a later date at Huntington Place, Janesville, where her ashes will be scattered by her family at a later time.
