FLORIDA - Marguerite (Margie) Multerer, age 83, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from complications sustained after a hip injury.
Margie was born on February 19, 1931, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Fredrick and Elsa Gores. She married her husband Thomas M. Multerer on June 16, 1951.
She is preceded in death by her son, Steven F. Multerer, son-in-law, Bill McMahon and all of her siblings, Ken, David and Bob Gores and MaryJo Stariha. A homemaker for many years for her husband and four children, Margie later went to cosmetology school and then used her skills to do hair for the elderly in her community. She also wrote a cookbook “Mother Multerer’s Mastered Meals and Ideas” which was published in 1979 and featured in the WI State Journal.
Margie also enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting and loved horses. She was dearly loved by her family and many friends and will be greatly missed. Margie is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Multerer, and her children, Peggy (McMahon) and her husband Michael, Steven’s wife, Patti, Susie (McMahon) and T.J. and his wife Cathy, 8 grandchildren and (almost) 6 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 10:30am on Saturday, August 16, 2014, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.
