Margaret “Peg Fischer, 90 of Mauston passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Hess Memorial Hospital, Mauston.
Peg was born on May 29, 1922 on the family farm the daughter of John and Marie (McGinty) Pollard.
Peg was a graduate of Mauston High School and the Juneau Co. Normal. She began her teaching career in 1941. She taught school for 45 years, 35 years in New Lisbon schools and retired in 1986. Peg was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Women’s Circle, the Mauston Lioness, the South Central Shamrock Club to name just a few. Peg enjoyed volunteering in the community for many things. She enjoyed her family time with nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.
Peg is survived by a sister-in-law Marge Pate nieces and nephews Maureen (Walt) Dragoloski, John (Mary Ann) Powers, Marie (Bill) Leipart, Tom (Lucila) Prosise, Joe (Jill) Pate, Colleen (Tom) Ott, Karen (John) Waraksa, Collette (John) Kreuser, Mary Kay (Ralph) Sedor, Maureen (Shaun) Shelton, Pat (Kathy) Shelton, Jim (Barb) Shelton, great nieces and nephews Mary Beth (Jim) Follmer, Maureen (Pete ) Bartlett, John Schwedrsky, Donald Schwedrsky, Laurie Powers Bull, John (Sherry) Powers, Charles Pollard, Jodi Rodefeld, Katie, great great nieces and nephews Micaela , Haley, Hattie, Karle, Mollie Ann, Keegan and Seth. She is further survived by special friends Bob and Theresa Severson, Rosemary Osborne and Irene Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Fischer, siblings Mary Suits, Catherine Powers, Helen Dziewior, John Pollard a niece Dottie Schwedrsky.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday, May 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
