LuVerne J. “Vern” Beinborn, 87, of Cuba City, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 surrounded by his family.

Services will be at 12pm on Saturday, July 6th at St. Rose Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI, with Father David Flanagan officiating. Burial with military rites accorded will be at the St. Rose Cemetery, Cuba City, WI. Friends may call from 9am until the time of service at the church on Saturday. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Vern was born on June 17, 1926 to Herman & Anna (Elliott) Beinborn in Boscobel, WI. He graduated from Boscobel High School and enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII. Vern married Janet Lathrop on January 10, 1957. On October 24, 1980 married Kay Wilberding, who preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2009. Vern owned and operated Vern’s Shoe Store for 19yrs. and worked at John Deere in Dubuque, IA for 27yrs retiring in 1987. Vern was a member of the Cuba City VFW Post 8318, Cuba City Lions Club, a member of the Cuba City Rescue Squad, St. Rose Catholic Church and was an avid sports fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Vern is survived by his children: Mary Beinborn of Sun Prairie, WI, Karen (Darrel) Gilkes, Patricia (Tim Wisch)Reuter & Wayne (Teena) Beinborn all of Prairie du Chien, WI, Sherry Clement of McFarland, WI, Larry (Jessy) Beinborn of Cuba City, WI and Casey Beinborn of Kailua, HI; his step-children: Steve (Dayna) Wilberding of Cuba City, WI, Mark (Teri Parcel) Wilberding of Charlotte, SC, Jim (Julie) Wilberding of Sun Prairie, WI and Mary (Greg) Gruel of East Dubuque, IL; 23 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude (Roger) St. Vincent; 2 brothers: Harold (Dorothy) Beinborn and William (Orpha) Beinborn, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kay, 5 brothers: Charles, Robert, Lewis, Fred and Herman Jr.

In lieu of flowers, a LuVerne “Vern” J. Beinborn Memorial Fund has been established.
