Madison-Luetta M. Stumpf Joyce, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.

She was born August 28, 1930 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Edward and Josephine (Rademacher) Lukes. Luetta spent the early years of her life in Sun Prairie. She graduated from Edgewood High School and later from Edgewood College with a Teaching Degree. She married Richard Stumpf on December 27, 1975. After his passing on June 13, 1997, Luetta met and married Harold Joyce Sr. on October, 17, 1998.

Luetta was a seamstress and sewed for many people in the Madison area. She enjoyed bridge with several groups including “The Use To Girls.” Luetta was also a member of the Garden Club and the Knitting Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and baking. She also enjoyed watching “The Sound Of Music.” She was known to have it playing around the clock. Luetta was a person of strong faith. She was a longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. Luetta was an extremely charismatic individual with loads of wit and charm that could draw everyone to her.

Luetta is survived by her sister, Mary Doyle; nephew, Mike (Cindy) Doyle; great-nephew, Justin (Livia) Doyle and their children Quayde and Gentry; great-niece, Melissa Doyle; Goddaughter, Chris (Denny) Poffenberger; stepchildren, Harold (Anne) Joyce Jr., Mary Ann Kloppedal, Marti (Joe) Clausius and Joan Joyce (Bill Jeselun); and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by many special cousins and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine; and her husbands, Richard Stumpf and Harold Joyce Sr.

A special thank you to Visiting Angels and Agrace Hospice for the loving care you provided. Also to her many friends and family members for your many visits. A very special thank you to Ron and Joyce Morris and Betsy Gieffert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace or Agrace Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, December 2, 2016 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE, 401 S Owen Drive, Madison with Msgr. Kenneth Fiedler presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30am until the time of mass. Entombment will take place following the service at RESURRECTION CEMETERY.

Luetta was known for her quick wit and love of life. We love you Luetta!
