MADISON/STOUGHTON-Louis Richard “Lou” Kleven, age 74, of Madison, formerly of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare.
He was born on March 28, 1939, in Stoughton, the son of Louis and Dorothy (Olson) Kleven. He was united in marriage to Diane Wynen on Aug. 20, 1966 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2008. Lou then married Mary Ellen Nelson on Nov. 6, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev. Lou was a graduate of Stoughton High School in 1957. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Lou was in sales his entire working career, retiring from Wisconsin Kenworth. He was a member of Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church. In his spare time Lou was an avid sports fan of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He loved to travel and visited every state capital in the U.S.
Lou is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of Madison; daughter, Stacey (Ronald) Pierce of Hartland; son, Dana French of Tomah; step-son, Phillip (Juli) Tellefson of Cambridge; grandchildren, Jennifer, Daniel, Emily, Andrew, Laura, Jacob and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Armaia, Aliyah and Alex; Brothers, Don (Pat) Kleven of Columbus, Bob (Donna) Kleven of Windsor, and Dick (Betty) Kleven of St. Germain; sister, Delores (Roger) Rowley of Arizona. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church, 1860 US Highway 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, presided by the Rev. Todd McVey. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
