MADISON-Lois Mae (Krinkey) Shafer, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Oak Park Place.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1930, in Packwaukee, Wisc., the daughter of William H. and Lillian H. Chartier Krinkey. Lois married Floyd Donald Shafer on Dec. 12, 1970, in Madison. She attended Camp Badger School in Madison. Lois loved doing Word Search puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching old TV shows. She was baptized Lutheran as an adult, and raised her children in the Christian faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and having lunch at the Columbus Senior Center where she had many friends, and evenings visiting with friends in the community room of the Columbus Manor Apartments.
Lois particularly liked having her children visit. She was an amazing woman and, given her limited abilities, managed to raise three children. Lois did a lot with very little.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Fran Holt, Betty Vivian and Donna Green; and five brothers, Lawrence, Bill, Ted, Duane, and Don Krinkey.
