OREGON/STOUGHTON-Lilly (Jeschke) Koss, age 91, received her wings on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, surrounded by her family in Stoughton.

Lilly was born on April 23, 1925, to the late Samuel and Matilda (Kisse) Jeschke in Leipzig, Bessarabian, Germany, now part of the Ukraine. She married Otto Koss on March 21, 1947, with stepchildren, Ilse and Horst. Lilly left Beckum with Otto and their two young sons, arriving in New York on March 21, 1955, joining family in Madison.

Lilly made traditional German cuisine; Strudel, Dumph Noodle, Rouladen, Galuskien and Apfelkuchen. Funnekuchen was a breakfast favorite. She shared her recipes (no standard measurements), but hers was the best. Lilly's family meant the world to her always and she to them.

She is survived by three brothers, Arthur (Margaret), Helmut (Ruth) and Edmund Jeschke; son, Klaus (Mary) Koss; grandchildren, Christine (Catherine) Cirillo-Koss, Sheila (Kevin) Boodry, Sheri (Frank) Schneeberg, Adam Koss, Jared (Emily) Koss, Andrea (Clint) Dretske, Jacob (Meredith) Koss and Catherine Koss (Dave Becka); great-grandchildren, Christopher, Randall "RJ", Tyler, Alexandra, Samantha, Madeline, Brea, Eli, Owen, Hudson and Harper; stepson, Horst; and step-grandsons, Wolfgang and Rudiger in Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; sister, Ottilie "Tillie" Kleisch; brother, Otto; son, Hubert; grandson, Nicholas; and step-granddaughter, Ilse.

A Memorial Service will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, at 2 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, with Pastor Paul Markquart presiding. Fellowship and light refreshments to follow. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
