Lawrence “Larry” Frankiewicz, 60, of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Alden Estates, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Lawrence was born on September 30, 1953, in Fort Atkinson WI and was the son of Allen P. and Frances M. (Lulich) Frankiewicz Jr.
He grew up in Jefferson WI, was the Prom King of his junior class at Jefferson High school in 1970, and graduated JHS in 1971. He attended UW-Whitewater and worked for the family business, Peoples Meat Market in Jefferson. In 1981 he moved to Milwaukee and worked and managed the People’s Meat Market in Milwaukee. Most recently, he worked for Glenn’s Market and Catering in Watertown for the past 9 years.
Larry enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, drawing, caring for his many plants, and taking his mother shopping.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Frankiewicz, and his siblings: Jerome, Allen III., Jane (Timothy) Kraus, Joseph (Sherrill), Thomas, Amy (Paul) Stiennon; and brother-in-law, Brian Rupnow.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Frankiewicz Jr., his brothers James and Robert, and his sister Lorraine Rupnow.
A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with Father Thomas Coyle officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service.
The Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
