Kenneth M. "Ken" LePine

STOUGHTON- Kenneth M. "Ken" LePine, age 90, peacefully passed away with family present on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.

Ken was born on Jan. 26, 1924, in Elmwood, Ill., the son of Telesphore and Julia (Dunn) LePine. He lost his father at age 2. Ken was very independent at an early age, leaving high school to assist his mother by working various jobs. As a self- educated man, he became a successful cost accountant. Ken worked at Motorola in Chicago during the war time and helped to produce radios for the service men abroad. He married the love of his life, Betty Seamonson (from Stoughton WI), in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 17, 1945. Ken and Betty moved to Stoughton in 1949. There, he worked at Milprint, U.S. Rubber and Uniroyal for over 40 years and retired.

After lovingly caring for his wife, Betty, during a 12-year illness, he lost her. To fill that loss he became a volunteer at Lake Kegonsa State Park, where he worked for over 22 years, helping the park with his accounting skills and mowing lawns. The park became the second love of his life and the staff became another family for him. Ken was a long-time member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. His children describe him as a polite man, loving, generous, care giving, compassionate and a person with a great sense of humor.

Ken is survived by, his brother, Daniel (Danny) Collins; son, Kenneth J. (Beth) LePine of Stoughton; daughters, Diane (Dr. Steve) Kellogg of Oregon, and Janice LePine Stelzer of Sun Prairie; his grandchildren, Todd, Josh, Amy, Jill, Erin, Ryan, Brittany and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Logan, Lauren, Joey, Naomi, Matthew, Bryce, Kailey, Parker, Bailey, Colten and Dexter; and the Illinois LePine's, Debi Hayes and a special friend, Carol. A luncheon will be served at the Father Healy room at ST. ANN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH immediately following. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
