MADISON - Kara Marie (Ruehlow) Perkins, age 38, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Meriter Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1976, in Madison, the daughter of Terry and Jane (Schwedrsky) Ruehlow. She married Ron Perkins on July 31, 2004, in Madison at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church. Kara loved her children and family dearly and loved taking care of her numerous patients as a CNA for the past 19 years. She loved her animals, especially her dog, Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Braylon, Brantley, Stephen and Jazmine; parents, Terry and Jane Ruehlow; brother, Brent (Amy) Ruehlow; father-in-law, Mike (Mary) Perkins, sister-in-law, Karen Hicks; and many other cousins, relatives and friends. Kara was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, with the Rev. Jeff VandenHeuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. A luncheon following the burial will be at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5202 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Associated Bank for a fund to be established for infant son, Brantley, born on Dec. 27, 2013.
A special thank you to the Nursing Staff at Meriter ICU, especially Marianne Pilger and Jessica Randall, and also Doctor McAllister for the unprecedented care they provided Kara.
