Kaitlin R. Jacobsen

Kaitlin R. Jacobsen, age 30, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer on Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born on April 3, 1986, in Stillwater, MN, the daughter of Dale and Rita (Davis) Johnson.

Kaitlin graduated from Somerset High School with the class of 2004, then attended Hamline University and graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in accounting and finance. Her career began in Steamboat Springs, CO. She instantly fell in love with the mountains and made lasting friendships with co-workers and neighbors. On this adventurous path, Kaitlin met Nate Jacobsen and they were married on July 26, 2014. They made the Madison area their home and Kaitlin began working as an accountant and financial analyst.

Kaitlin had a creative side and enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, cooking and baking. Kaitlin loved her cats Jinx and Cleo and fostered kittens when she was no longer able to work. Her father taught her how to fish, a passion they will always share. Kaitlin enjoyed cheering on the Packers and was a true Badger fan. Although Kaitlin's time with us was all too short, we will always remember her laughter, the comfort she brought to all of us and simply being with her.

She will be missed by her husband, Nate; parents, Dale and Rita Johnson; sister, Brianna Johnson; paternal grandfather, Glenn W. Johnson; parents-in-law, Curtis and Lisa Jacobsen; sister-in-law, Courtney Jacobsen and brother-in-law, Nick Jacobsen and many loving family and friends and her family in blue. She was preceded in death by her, maternal grandmother Lorraine Davis and her paternal grandmother Carol Johnson.

A Celebration of Kaitlin's life will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison (corner of Sprecher Rd. and Dominion Dr.) on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12:00-Noon, with Rev. Bob Goodsell presiding. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A special thank you to all our friends and family for all your support and kindness.
