John Treuthardt, age 87, of Janesville, died on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at home.
He was born in Green County, WI on July 13, 1927, the son of David A. and Lydia (Leibundgut) Treuthardt. He was raised by Hilbert E. and Ethel Schultz from a young man. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from 1945 to 1947, and was awarded the Victory Medal, Occupation of Germany and 2 Overseas bars. He married Rosemary (Kruckenberg) Treuthardt in Edgerton on May 23, 1953, and owned Treuthardt Auto Repair from 1958 to 1994. John dearly loved his wife, children, grand children, great grand children and his grand dogs. He always enjoyed hunting, going up north, the Green Bay Packers, and NASCAR Racing.
John is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Janesville; 2 children, Shelley (Jim Kealy) Treuthardt-Kealy of Janesville and John Treuthardt of Edgerton; 2 grandchildren, John (Kelli) Treuthardt, Jr., of Shopiere and Amanda (Aaron) Thompson of Janesville; 2 step grandchildren, Matt (Hannah Chitwood) Kealy of Janesville, and Charles Kealy of Janesville; 2 great grandchildren, Presley and Cashton Treuthardt; 1 step great grandchild, Lauryn Kealy; 4 siblings: Carl (Marjorie) Treuthardt, Fritz Treuthardt, Henry (Chris) Treuthardt and Mary (Bill) Mitchell; 3 sisters-in-law: Beverly Treuthardt, Cathy Treuthardt and Gloria Treuthardt; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilbert and Ethel; and 6 siblings: Louis, David, Emil, Robert, Walter, and Frank.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
