Johanna A. Koebler
JANESVILLE --- Johanna A. Koebler, age 86, of Janesville, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville due to kidney failure.
She was born in Carson, WI on April 1, 1927, the youngest of 5 children, born to William and Anna (Skibicki) Bohm. During her teenage years, she moved to Stevens Point and resided with her oldest brother, Edward who she adored, and his wife, Doris. She graduated from Stevens Point High School and later moved to Madison to attend Cosmetology School. Upon graduation, she was hired to work in Janesville at Dorothy's Beauty Shop. It was in those early years in Janesville that she met and married William Koebler on June 25, 1949. She continued to work as a beautician at several different salons in town and garnered numerous friendships with her coworkers. After retirement, she spent considerable time caring for her grandson, Brad. She loved being a grandma. Johanna loved her trips to Florida where she and Bill met up with friends from Janesville. She also enjoyed Friday nights out with friends, golfing with the neighborhood gals, shopping trips to Delavan and Lake Geneva with her best friend and of course, any time with her children.
She is survived by her husband, William Koebler; 4 children: Suzette (Dr. Jim Vogel) Koebler of Janesville, Gabrielle (Rafael) Kochell-Nunez of Lake Geneva, Gower (Sherry) Koebler of Roscoe, and Gordon Koebler of Madison; 2 grandchildren, Heather (John) Blankenship of Knoxville, TN and Bradley Kochell of Lake Geneva; and 2 great grandchildren, Arabella Blankenship and Benjamin Kochell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. Tom Marr officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Lasting Memorials may be made in Johanna's name to St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville or Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., Janesville.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff from Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., especially Kelly, Shelly, and Angie as well as Mother Catherine, Sharon, Amy and all the other personnel from St. Elizabeth Manor who work very hard to make a better life for the elderly.
