STOUGHTON-Jim H. Nelson, 52, of Stoughton, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, as a result of his long battle with cancer.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1960, in Stoughton, the son of Howard and Kathryn Nelson. He attended Stoughton schools and remained a resident of Stoughton. Jim was a member of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Reserves in Madison. He was a commercial painter for Decorating Unlimited Inc. of Madison for many years. He enjoyed football, car racing, high performance cars, hunting and the love of the outdoors.
Jim is survived by his parents, Howard and Kathryn of Stoughton; his brother, Gary and his son, Cole of Stoughton; and his brother, Brian (Donna) and their children, Collin, Adam, Emma, and Kate of Colgate. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvie Nelson, Myrtle (Neath) Nelson, Elsie Nelson, and Claire and Asula (Meissner) Nelson.
A private family service will be held at Gunderson Stoughton Funeral Home. A time of gathering will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
