Jerry Jon “The King” Brendemuehl, age 62, of New Glarus passed away on Friday, November 08, 2013 at Agrace Hospice Care, Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born on January 10, 1951 at Platteville, WI to his parents Walter and Vivian (Jeidy) Brendemuehl. Jerry graduated from Belmont High School in 1969 and then worked in the insurance industry for many years. On August 14, 1971 he was united in marriage to Jean Larson. The couple later divorced. Jerry resided in Lancaster for 32 years prior to moving to New Glarus, but he considered St. Germain his home away from home. He loved his family, children, and grandchildren. As his children grew up he took great pride in being their baseball coach. Jerry was also a dedicated Cubs, Packers, and Badgers fan. Jerry was attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville working towards his bachelor’s degree. He was very proud to be a returning student and enjoyed his time in the classroom
Jerry is survived by his loving partner Dianne Barr, children Bart (Barb) Brendemuehl, Tara (Jason) Edge, Ryan (Gina) Brendemuehl, Casey (Amanda) Brendemuehl, Eric “Bugsy” Brendemuehl, and Emily (Kevin) Rausch, twelve grandchildren, and a sister Luetta “Aunt Sis” (Gary) Jones. He is further survived by Dianne’s children Jamie and Jason Myers, Jennifer, Sarah, Amanda, and Katie Barr, and his canine companion “Schotzi”.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, WI. with the Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon officiating.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.
