MADISON-Jeanne Ionne Heberling, age 87, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at St. Mary’s Care Center.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1929, in Manchester Township, Boone County, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Alice (Paulson) Hardyman. Jeanne graduated from Beloit High School in 1947. She married Frank Heberling on Sept. 24, 1950, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Beloit and together they had three children. While living in Beloit, Jeanne worked for Klenzade. The family moved to Madison in 1961. Jeanne then worked with Frank at Hilldale Card and Camera for many years. Together they enjoyed playing cards, bowling, flower and vegetable gardening and spending time with family and neighbors. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Gary (Cindy) Heberling of Fitchburg, Wis., Rebecca (Leo) Holl of Brownsville, Wis. and James (Belle) Heberling of Monona, Wis.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Heberling, Gretchen Heberling, Erik Thompson, Jessica Thompson and Caroline (Alex) Larsen; one great-granddaughter, Liberty Martin; two brothers, Vernon Hardyman and Donald (Sandra) Hardyman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank on Dec. 4, 1992; and sister, Gertrude Svayko.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday.
