BROOKLYN/STOUGHTON-Jeanette C. Anthony, age 80, of Brooklyn, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born on Aug. 5, 1933, in Sauk City, the daughter of Peter and Emma (Lins) Haas.
Jeanette attended Sauk City Schools and moved to Madison in 1951, where she met her future husband. She married David "Chuck" Anthony on June 8, 1953, in Sauk City. Jeanette was employed by Gisholt and moved to the family farm with David near Brooklyn. After their children were born, she stayed at home raising the children. Jeanette was also employed at WISCO and with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation until retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church. Jeanette enjoyed sewing, knitting, and flower gardening. She mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her son, John (Kathy) Anthony of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, David Anthony, Lisa (Tim Amerine) Anthony, Stephen (Sarah) Anthony, and James Anthony; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Robert in 1996.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, with Father Ken Dooley presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church.
