Janice Jean (Bruni) Selvig

VERONA/MADISON-Janice Jean (Bruni) Selvig, age 82, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital. 

She was born on July 25, 1935, in Monroe, the daughter of Floyd and Josephine (Scott) Bruni.  Janice married Robert V. Oimoen on Sept. 9, 1953 in Madison.  Together they had four children, Robert, Jeff, Randy, and Lisa.  Later in life she married Marv Selvig, with whom she spent many wonderful years. 

J anice was a professional dog groomer and owned K9 Kuts in Verona for many years and had many faithful clients.  She was a true social butterfly and loved hosting parties and gatherings. Over the years Janice enjoyed many activities including: traveling, boating, biking, camping, cooking and baking, and playing cards with family and friends.  She was a fantastic bowler and played in several leagues. 

Janice had a passion for music.  She enjoyed playing in her organ group and attending performances in the Verona community.  Janice had a boundless energy for life.  She was the most compassionate and helping person, always ready to lend a hand. Janice was the epitome of unconditional love and treasured the time spent with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her sons, Robert (Shirley) Oimoen, Jeff (Vicki) Oimoen, and Randy (Lisa) Oimoen; daughter, Lisa (Greg Miller) Oimoen Miller; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (LaVonne) Bruni; loving companion, Joe Maly; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; husband, Marv; and granddaughter, Lindsay. 

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.  Burial will be held at Verona Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Janice’s name to Agrace HospiceCare. 

The family would like to thank Joe Maly for all of his love, care and support.  In the words of Janice, “Let’s have a party!”
