Janice Beth Denu, age 75, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital in Sauk City.

She was born November 7, 1937 in the Town of Bergen, Vernon County to the late Harold and Ruth (Snell) Phillips. Janice married Algie H. Denu on June 15, 1957, he preceded her in death on September 20, 2002.

She operated an in home daycare in Mazomanie for over 20 years and later worked at the Mazo Market Deli until she retired in 2002. Janice enjoyed camping at her seasonal spot at Crystal Lake Campground, Blue Grass Music Festivals, and road and camping trips with her family. She was a member of the Midland United Methodist Church and past member of the Irish Tabernacle Choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Mike Sorenson) Denu, Lodi; son, Darien Denu, Mazomanie; 3 grandchildren, Corissa (Shawn) Buttchen, Edmund, Mike Buttchen, Mt. Horeb, Matt Buttchen, Barneveld; a great-granddaughter, Jordyn; 2 sisters, Avis Denu, Mazomanie, Deanna (Ray) Sorenson, Wilton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 infant sons, Brian, Todd and Chad; an infant brother, Darwin; and a brother in-law John Denu.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 Cty. Hwy KP, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Mazomanie Cemetery.
